Professional Agentic Architect practice exam
40 free questions for the Google Cloud PAA exam, written against the official exam guide. Every answer explains why each wrong option fails and links to the official documentation. No sign-up.
Updated November 6, 2026 for the GA exam launching in mid-November. All 180 questions are original and were checked against the Google Cloud documentation they cite.
A retailer's ADK agent must look up orders in a Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL database. Security forbids the model from generating arbitrary SQL. Only three approved parameterized queries may run. The team also wants connection pooling and OpenTelemetry tracing, and does not want to write or maintain a custom MCP server. What should you do?
How the bank follows the five sections
The exam guide gives each section an approximate share of the exam. The question bank uses the same split, so a practice score by section shows where the next study hour should go. Section 3, developing custom agents with ADK, RAG, Agent Identity, MCP and A2A, is a third of the exam on its own.
| Section | Exam weight | Free questions | Full bank |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Low-code agents | 13% | 5 | 23 |
| 2. Coding agents | 17% | 7 | 30 |
| 3. Custom agents | 33% | 13 | 60 |
| 4. Evaluation and deployment | 22% | 9 | 40 |
| 5. Security and governance | 15% | 6 | 27 |
What the questions test
Each question is a short scenario from a company building agents on Google Cloud: a support team moving from a scripted chatbot to an agent, a platform team that must stop coding agents from reaching production secrets, a bank that needs every tool call tied to an end user. The options all sound reasonable. One of them meets every constraint in the scenario, and the explanation says which constraint decides it.
The bank covers the tools the guide lists as in scope, under their current names: Agent Development Kit, Agent Runtime (formerly Agent Engine), Agent Search (formerly Vertex AI Search), Workflow Builder (formerly Agent Designer), CX Agent Studio, Memory Bank, Vector Search and RAG Engine, Agent Identity, Agent Registry, Agent Gateway, Model Armor, Antigravity, Agents CLI, MCP and A2A. The exam guide page lists every consideration with the tools that go with it.

About the exam
Google opened the Professional Agentic Architect certification with a beta in September 2026 and launches the generally available exam in mid-November 2026. The GA exam is a 2-hour proctored multiple-choice session delivered by Pearson, online or at a test center, for $200. Passing it is only half of the certification: you then have two months to complete hands-on labs in Google Skills, and you must pass both parts. The credential is valid for one year rather than the two years of other Google Cloud professional certifications. Details and the differences from the beta are on the format and cost page.
